As an ongoing war against an influx of drugs is fought at the southern border, President Joe Biden’s lackadaisical approach to security has left thousands of North Carolinians dead from fentanyl overdoses.

Fentanyl continues to flood over the southern border due to President Joe Biden’s nonexistent border policies and North Carolina residents are sadly feeling some of the harshest effects, as thousands die from drug overdoses every year.

In total, 1 in 35 North Carolinians will die of a drug overdose in their lifetime, the worst in the nation after Arizona, according to data from Just Facts. 4,022 North Carolinians died from overdose in 2022—expect that grim figure to swell as Biden’s open border allows smugglers to bring a constant wave of drugs into the U.S.

In 2021, nearly 107,000 Americans died from drug overdoses and the leading killer was opioids, particularly fentanyl—a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. In recent years, fentanyl has flooded the streets of America wreaking havoc as it goes.

A majority of the fentanyl on the market was manufactured in Mexico or China and subsidized by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The southern border under President Biden remains the key entry point for the drug, responsible for over 70 percent of overdoses in 2022.

Biden continues to ignore the constant invasion of illegal aliens and the influx of dangerous drugs at the border, as he and his “progressive” cronies would rather arm the illegal aliens with firearms than send them home and focus on protecting Americans.
